QUALITY OF LIFE: Noise Around Student Housing

Question/Comment: What can be done to reduce the noise that is generated by student housing near Tufts and Davis Square?

City Update 12/4/09: Ward 7's Neighborhood Police Officer met with Tufts Police to come up with a plan regarding noise from student housing.  The SPD has committed to putting out an extra police car in Ward 6 and 7 area in the evenings, particularly on the weekends.  A Tufts Police Officer will also ride with the Somerville Police Officer and the two together will have zero tolerance for underage drinking and noise. The car will issue violation tickets to noisy parties that are exceeding decibel levels outline in the City's noise ordinance.
