TRAFFIC: Concerns about safety at Dane and Washington

Question/Comment: What can be done to improve pedestrian usability of the Dane Street / Dane Ave. intersection.

City Update 11/25/09:  Updates to signage and guardrails have increased visibility.  However, the main problems posed by this intersection are caused by infrastructure and existing buildings that cannot be addressed by the City.

City Update 1/13/09: Alderman Heuston requested in October that T&P install a "No Parking Here to Corner" sign at Dane and Washington Street.

City Update 5/12/08: Traffic and Parking has installed new signage and glowsticks and has added high visibility tape to guardrails. More significant changes will need to await major reconstruction of the bridge, which is not currently planned.
