TRASH: Increasing Opportunities to Recycle

Question/Comment: I was unable to attend the electronic recycling day, but I have a few electronics that I would love to recycle. Do you know if there will be another event like this in the future?

City Update 8/1/2009: Unfortunately, this was a one-time event run by the company, CRT Processing LLC from New Hampshire and sponsored by Samsung. The City is looking for other sources of funding to hold a similar event in the future, but currently the only thing the City recycles are CRTs. All electronic items, excluding TV and computer monitors, are part of the regular trash and can be put out with the trash on your regular trash day. There is no need to call DPW and schedule any special pick up. For TV and computer monitors, you can call 311 at least 24 hours prior to your trash pick up day to arrange for disposal. If you don’t want to throw out your used electronics, you could consider donating them to organizations such as the Salvation Army, Goodwill, or another of the organizations listed here:
