TRAFFIC: Concerns about Speed of Traffic on Willow Ave

Question/Comment: What can be done to improve pedestrian and bike safety on Willow Avenue between Elm and Summer?

City Update 11/19/09: Resurfacing of Willow Ave is now scheduled for 2010. This project will include installation of a "bumpout" and raised traffic calming table.

City Update 5/15/09: The design of a "bumpout" at Willow and Ave has been complete. The project is awaiting inclusion in a road paving construction contract.

City Update 5/16/08: Traffic and Parking has installed a bike lane on Willow between Elm and Highland. Reconstruction of Willow Street is planned in the near future, so more expensive changes should be built into this reconstruction. The City does, however, plan to create a "bump-out" at Willow and Elm to slow turns onto Willow.
