TRAFFIC: Combating congestion on College Avenue

Question/Comment: A resident would like to know if College Avenue could be made no parking during certain hours to open travel lanes to combat rush hour congestion.

City Update 12/11/09: Metered parking on College Avenue in Davis Square is restricted during the morning and afternoon rush hours.  The same is true of meters on Highland Avenue in Davis Square.  Further from the square, past meters, there is resident parking that is not time restricted.  Though traffic congestion is a problem, the City does not want to place time limits on this parking, as it would be prohibitive to area residents who need to park.
