PARKING: Extended stay visitor permits

Question/Comment: A resident would like to know if the Traffic & Parking Department could please specify online the requirements to obtain a week/month-long visitor permit.  She left work early specifically to make it to the parking office to pick up a visitor permit for a housesitter.  She brought a copy of a utility bill as proof of residency.  The parking officer would not provide a visitor permit because a copy of the visitor's car registration was required.  She believes that this should be specified on the website, so that people do not waste their time traveling to the parking office, only to find that they cannot obtain a permit.  She would also like to know if the requirement that a person bring in their visitor's registration be waived.

City Update 2/25/10:  This issue has been brought to the attention of the Traffic and Parking  Department.  They are in agreement that the website is in need of updates with more specific information now that the new parking regulations have been adopted.  This task will be added to their priorities to be completed in the near future.
