It's going to be a Fun Weekend in Somerville

This weekend we have RiverFest, the 5th Annual FluffFest and Tuft's Community Day. In addition, there is an art exhibit opening in the Somerville Museum. My mom always said, "only boring people get bored," to which I would add, "... this weekend in Somerville."

What the Fluff

It’s the fifth annual Fluff festival in Somerville and our madcap celebration continues to grow! "What the Fluff? A Tribute to Union Square Invention" honors Fluff creator, Archibald Query who invented the gooey sticky stuff right here in Union Square in 1917. Join our madcap tribute for all ages that includes musical, and theatrical performances, games stage and DIY midway, cooking contest and lots of tasty Fluff treats. Saturday, September 25, 2010 (raindate Sunday, September 26th) 3 to 7 pm, Union Square Plaza, Somerville.

Tufts Community Day

All are invited to a day of education, art, and family entertainment. All activities, including lunch, are free of charge.

Residents, neighbors and friends are invited to celebrate the eighth annual Community day at Tufts University from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 26. The event will take place on the academic quad at Tufts' Medford and Somerville campus and is cosponsored by the two cities.

Art on Emotion

Making Connections ‐ How are you doing? A community created art exhibit promoting positive emotional health through awareness, education and encouragement of positive self-care strategies will run September 26th - December 17th, 2010 in the Somerville Museum. Opening Reception Sunday Sept 26th 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Welcome : Mayor Joe Curtatone & Dr. Karen Hacker, Institute for Community Health; Guest Speakers : Senator Robert Antonioni & Somerville Artist Viesia Novosielski; Music by Tunefoolery.
