Q&A: When Will We Get a Speed Table at Summer and Willow Streets

We received this question from a resident: "Could you please provide an update on the city's plans for a speed table at the intersection of Summer and Willow Streets? Last we heard in summer 2010, a contract had been awarded. Traffic speed, particularly on Summer St. near the intersection, continues to be a concern for local residents."

Answer from Robert T. King, Director of Engineering, City of Somerville - DPW:  The City is working closely with a contractor that will be completing the work. Currently, the schedule is tentative (weather or construction delays could shift the start date), but work is expected to begin April 25 with completion by May 23.
