Q: Nice Job on Temple St., Will You Be Repaving Sycamore Too?

Q: I have lived in Somerville for almost 50 years and I never thought  would see the day when Temple, Marshal, and Washington Streets were ALL reconstructed and paved smooth! What a joy to be able to navigate these streets without having your teeth jarred loose! Now then, could the City please do something about Broadway & School, in front of the bank? This stretch is a bumpy ride! Also, how about Sycamore, between Pembroke & Medford, also a stretch of terrible road!

A: We're exited to see Temple St. and other recently repaved roads in great shape too. Unfortunately, Sycamore and that portion of Broadway are not on the schedule to be repaved this year. But your request has been forwarded to the Department of Public Works for consideration for next year. You may also want to place your request by calling 311 as well, and contacting your Alderman is also helpful. Contact info for the City's aldermen is listed HERE. Also, to give residents an ongoing overview of City road improvement efforts, ResiStat is working to update our map of recent and pending road improvement projects, which will be posted to the blog once complete.
